A Glimpse Inside
Heavy chains are breaking,
clattering; they're falling;

About the Author
Sharifah Francis is a faith-based poet born in Dominica and raised in Barbados, where her poetic journey began. Her writing has been deeply shaped by her relationship with God and her personal journey, which led to her debut book Behind the Mask.
At some point throughout her life, she has felt the weight of dealing with internal hurt and struggles, and only finding solace in solitary places - a physical place or within herself. However, that solace never lasted and she continued to bury the internal turmoil within her until she found Christ at the age of 22.
There, she began to see the Lord slowly transform her life - healing the brokenness, breaking the cycles, and shedding the mask that was there for years - revealing a woman who was finally free.
